taako spent his time on the empty world studying bardic college tomes on how to do voices good, so after the day of story and song he’s very, very good at impressions. taako uses this skill exclusively to fuck with people via stone of farspeech. lucas finds himself in possession of a lot of pizzas he swears he didn’t order.

it’s the perfect crime until one night, as taako is ordering a rollie egg cooker from the fantasy shopping channel for barold, kravitz reaches over, plucks the stone from his hand, and breaks out a pitch perfect barry impression to cancel it.

taako is shook. taako assumed kravitz was as bad at voices as he is at accents and that merle was easily tricked. taako assumed no one could stop him from delivering a weird egg cylinder machine to his brother-in-law’s house. how did that voice come out of kravitz’s mouth?

kravitz is good at impressions, turns out, but only when he’s able to listen and absorb the voice. kravitz has met pan. he pops over to see the raven queen sometimes. they play poker with istus. kravitz smiles at his shocked boyfriend. “i was a bard, love. remember?”

kravitz could have stepped in at any time, but he has no objections to harassing lucas. it’s just that barry’s taste in food is already very bad and they don’t need to risk him getting fond of cylindrical eggs on top of everything else.

i dont think we should be blaming children for falling prey to games intentionally designed to be addictive.

there is this predatory trend in game design where they lure kids into downloading free games and let them play the game for a couple of hours before they’re convinced (or forced, if they want to continue) to cough up their parents’ credit cards. the games in question are usually designed to get you really close to winning (or thinking that you’re close), but it’s yanked away immediately and the only way to get close again is to try over and over again, a process that usually results in you spending money. (“energy refills,” more powerful items, or even cosmetics via bandwagon effect)

in other words, the video game industry is currently set up like a fucking carnival game, only this time the carnival follows you around. i dont think coining a “gaming disorder” will help anyone until we start holding the clowns in charge responsible.

I’ve seen people saying that Cher playing Meryl Streep’s mother in the Mamma Mia sequel stretches credulity because they’re the same age IRL, and to that I say: do you even go here? No one is going to see Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again for realism or accuracy or good casting. This is a sequel ten years in the making to a movie musical from 2008 in which Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård. and Colin Firth danced around in sequined disco outfits singing ABBA’s “Waterloo.” A movie in which Julie Walters does a split-second Elvis impression while singing “Dancing Queen.” A movie with an entire musical number dedicated to the fact that Christine Baranski’s milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. No one is watching this movie for quality, you fools. We are here to act stupid in public and sing along (badly) to ABBA. The camp is a feature, not a bug.

thor (2011) is an interesting movie to me because i think, despite a few flaws, the reason it never really took off the way iron man or cap:tfa did was because the audience it reached didn’t match the intended audience. the intended audience was so confused by what they saw because it didn’t reflect their ideal in terms of what they thought a thor movie would be, while the audience it ended up attracting claimed the empty spaces and turned their “sub-fandom” into something that practically rejected the fandoms of mcu!iron man and cap at that time

what i’m trying to say here, in essence, is this:

thor (2011) is a chick flick

to prove my point, i went to the world’s most trustworthy database on film analysis, urban dictionary, and found a few definitions obviously written by men

Last I checked, I’m a woman. I loved Loki. The Warriors Three, and the Lady Sif were amazing. Hawkeye’s snark was hilarious. Odin was both paternal and majestic as fuck. The frost giants were cool. Thor was a princeling who’d never learned his father’s lesson. Sure, he was attractive, but meh, I’ve always liked Loki more.

As for the romance? Absolute lack of any kind of chemistry made than a non-starter.

To add to this nightmare, I’ve just heard of a thing called ForceField where people get to monitor and block internet sites that you’re going on if they don’t approve.

It tells the user what sites/apps you’re going on, for how long you’re on them, and WHERE YOU ARE ON AN UPDATING MAP.

So you know if you’re in an abusive household and use sites like tumblr to escape and talk to friends, you could be cut off from that.

They say “it’s not spyware” but it sure sounds controlling and creepy to me.

Life 360 is another tracker. My parents have used it on me, not allowing me to delete it from my phone, and sometimes even demanding selfies to prove I was where the map said. (As if I’d go anywhere without my phone)

SpectorPro is another one. Afaik it can’t track location, but it takes screenshots roughly every 20sec to allow the installer to watch a video of your computer activity. It also tracks all keystrokes, so passwords aren’t safe, and records any website you visit + the duration. It’s incredibly creepy and a huge violation of privacy, and was one of the cornerstones of my abuse as a kid.
